PTSD is a very real threat to our service men and women
We all know the abbreviation PTSD. It gets tossed around so much that the severity and complexity of it are lost in the repetition. Something that is almost never talked about openly is the fact that suicide rates jump exponentially in combat veterans. I had never heard of this until reading the fictional novel World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War by Max Brooks
This fact needs to be widely known and taken seriously into consideration when we discuss and vote on the care our protectors get when they return home.
